Last time you have seen them in the gym, in a lovely reception bowl.
Hmm, maybe later. Thank you…
If you’re not one of those green apple lovers, I challenge you here: GIVE GREEN APPLE a chance!
Try this- my today creation:
GREEN APPLE -PUMPKIN SEEDS- COCOA CRUNCH
INGREDIENTS:
Green apples
Raw pumpkin seeds, slightly crushed
Spoon of raw virgin coconut oil
Cocoa powder
Agave sirup (to sweeten if you wish)
Dash of cinnamon powder
Tools:
Dehydrator ( Excalibur)
Mandoline slicer
Big bowl
PROCESS:
Wash the apples.
Slice them all on mandoline slicer into big bowl (experiment with thickness of slices, I sliced these very thin. That’s the way we like them.)
Add cocoa powder, cinnamon, coconut oil and agave syrup.
‘Massage’ all very well together with your hands, until the oil and cocoa is distributed evenly.
Place on dehydrator trays in thin layers.
Place in dehydrator, I usually set mine on 115 F temperature and approx. 8 hours of time.
Keep tasting them, check if they are crunchy enough…
Store in fridge in airtight container.
I must add my turned out great! Nibbling on them while typing this. They are MARVELLOUS ( :
Green apples are packed with fiber, most notably one called PECTIN. In human digestion, pectin binds to cholesterol in the gastrointestinal tract and slows glucose absorption by trapping carbohydrates. Pectin is therefore a soluble dietary fiber, and also serves as a prebiotic to promote the growth of healthy bacteria in your gut. Seems as well to help lower LDL cholesterol (as increase of viscosity in the intestinal tract, leading to a reduced absorption of cholesterol from bile or food). There is number of minerals – iron, zinc, copper, manganese, potassium, trace of calcium, vitamin A, B, C, K in green apples too.
I know, I know they look like autumn leaves… I promise they taste better than that 🙂
