It snowed today in Cheshire UK, and I was curious what’s going on inside my green house. To my pleasant surprise my parsley is still doing well, and sun-like calendula just blossomed into a lovely flower this freezing morning.
The inspiration for today’s healing-green-juice was right there…
INGREDIENTS:
Generous bunch of fresh PARSLEY leaves
Handful of CALENDULA Flowers and LEAVES
Half a peeled GRAPEFRUIT
Fresh GINGER (as much as you can handle)
Cup of filtered water
Tools:
Green juice bag
Blender ( preferably high powered)
Glass jug, jar or a big glass
PROCESS:
Place all ingredients in a blender.
Blend until sufficiently smooth ( time of blending will really depend on your blender type/engine and the setting of it).
Place the green juice bag into the spacious glass jug/jar/glass.
Pour in the green-smoothie-like liquid as shown in my photo.
Strain naturally (hang the juice bag just above the glass jug using your kitchen cupboard handle) or help it by squeezing with your hands.
Drink immediately but slowly once ready.
Try the recipe and enjoy!
Health Benefits of PARSLEY.
As other leafy greens I love such as dandelion, watercress, beet greens, PARSLEY is considered helpful in increasing and sustaining LACTATION.
Parsley contains many minerals (Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium…), vitamin C, and antioxidants (folic acid, flavonoids luteolin and apigenin).
Parsley works as a powerful natural diuretic and can help reduce bloating and blood pressure.
Parsley is rich in vitamin K, which has been linked to bone health (supports bone growth and bone mineral density as well needed in the blood coagulation process).
Parsley contains vitamin A, which helps protect the surface of the eye, as well as lutein and zeaxanthin, two antioxidants that help prevent age-related macular degeneration.
Parsley is a low-calorie ingredient that can be consumed without risk by most people. Large amounts of parsley may be dangerous to pregnant women (and should be avoided especially in the first and last trimester) as well as for individuals with weak kidneys.
Extra tips-
Try to use a hot compress of parsley leaves on painful swollen breasts.
Fresh green juice from leaves effectively removes (‘ERASES’) skin pigmentation…( apply on clean face/hands etc before bedtime, leave overnight)
